Untraced Hidden Treasures in the Book of "The Secret: A Treasure Hunt!"

In 1982, a mystery book called "The Secret: A Treasure Hunt!" was published in the U.S. which was created by Byron Preiss. Preiss was inspired by the book, Masquerade, that was published in England in the year of 1979.

Masquerade was written and illustrated by Kit Williams, containing fifteen paintings that beckoned to the location of a hidden treasure made of an 18-carat gold, jewel-encrusted hare buried somewhere in England. That book sold millions of copies around the globe.

Preiss assigned a young artist named John Jude Palencar to create the twelve paintings for his book, of which each painting was combined with a cryptic poem. Used together, they pointed an armchair sleuth to a specific location. There, three feet underground, a buried casque could be found, and inside of that casque, a ceramic key will be hidden. Each key could be turned into the publisher, who would hand over a gem worth around $1,000.

Unfortunately, "The Secret: A Treasure Hunt!" was not as popular as Kit's Masquerade. The provided clues were so harder to solve that it nailed every gateway of the cheat, and Preiss, alone, buried all the keys in various locations that he never told to anyone else. Perhaps, Preiss also did not realize its actual difficulties.

Two years later of its publication, in the year of 1984, three kids unfolded the location of a key in Chicago. Then almost two decades were spent but nothing much happened until 2004 when two lawyers found another one in Cleveland.

And since 2005, after Preiss's tragic death in a car accident, it has remained secret to this date. Whether the gems are said to have also been lost.

Jean Hilliard, Who Came Back to Life Miraculously After Freezing Solid For Six Hours

Jean Hilliard (born in 1961), from Lengby, Minnesota, is a survivor of a severe 6-hour freezing at -22 °F in rural northwestern Minnesota, United States.

On December 20, 1980, Jean Hilliard was involved in a car accident that resulted in car failure in sub-zero temperatures. She walked to a friend’s house 2 miles away and collapsed 15 feet outside of the door. Temperatures dropped to −22 °F (−30 °C) and she was found “frozen solid” at 7 a.m. after six hours in the cold.

Immediately, she was transported to Fosston Hospital where doctors said her skin was too hard to pierce with a hypodermic needle and her body temperature was too low to register on a thermometer. Her face was ashen and her eyes were solid with no response to light. Her pulse was slowed to approximately 12 beats per minute. It has been suggested that due to having alcohol in her system, her organs remained unfrozen, which prevented permanent damage.

Her family gathered in prayer, hoping for a miracle. She was wrapped i…

Hisashi Ouchi ― A Nuclear Affected Man Waited 83 Unbearable Days to Die

The Second Tokaimura Nuclear Accident conveys the nuclear disaster which occurred on September 30, 1999, resulting in two horrific nuclear deaths. It is one of the world's worst civilian nuclear radiation accidents which occurred in a uranium fuel reprocessing that was operated by the Japan Nuclear Fuel Conversion Co. (JCO) at the village of Tokai, Naka District, Japan.

Three lab workers, Hisashi Ouchi, Yutaka Yokokawa and Masato Shinohara were together preparing a measurable batch of nuclear-fuel by adding uranium solution to the precipitation tanks. Due to lack of experience, they mistakenly added an excessive quantity of uranium (about 16kg) to one of those tanks which reached to its critical condition. Eventually, a self-sustaining nuclear chain reaction started in all of sudden and the horrible accident took place.
Unfortunately, Hisashi was the nearest-one from the explosion who was injured most. He received 17 sieverts (Sv) of radiation while 50 mSv is considered as the ma…

The Terrible Death of Kirwan in Rescuing a Dog from the Boiling Spring

On the very quiet morning of 20th July in 1981, when 24-year-old David Allen Kirwan from La Cañada, was driving through Yellowstone’s Fountain Paint Pot thermal area in California, with his friend Ronald Ratliff and Ratliff’s dog Moosie, nobody thought that they were waiting for a bizarre tragedy.
At the mid of the day, they parked their truck to get out for a closer exploration at the hot springs. Eventually, they walked a little distance away from their truck, then all of sudden, Moosie escaped from the truck, ran towards and jumped into the nearby Celestine Pool (a thermal spring whose water temperature is measured at over 200°F), then began to yelping.

They rushed over together to the pool to aid their troubled dog, and Kirwan’s attitude was indicating he was about to go into the hot spring after it. According to the seers, several people including his friend tried to warn Kirwan off by yelling at him not to jump in, but he shouted with unrest, “Like hell I won’t!”, then he took …

Santiago Flight 513 Lands with 92 Skeletons on Board after 35 Years??!

Santiago Flight 513 Commercial Airliner takes off in Germany in 1954, lands in Brazil in 1989 with 92 skeletons on board ― with dead pilot still at the controls.

It seems like beyond science fiction, but for some years this strange story has been circulating on internet through various web-sources. Actually, this extraordinary story was first published as a breathtaking news by the Weekly World News Tabloid, in its 14 Nov 1989 Edition. Where the newspaper reporter Irwin Fisher’s report confirms the sketchy details that surround this flight. Was it a conclusive news or it was just a sensational hoax??

According to Brazilian aviation authorities a commercial airliner Santiago flight 513 took off from Germany on September 4th 1954 and vanished somewhere over the Atlantic ocean. A fruitless massive search was conducted and the forlorn investigators were finally forced to believe that the aircraft was crashed and all the passengers had lost their lives.
But the story becomes more fascinati…

Saturday Mthiyane ―Child of the Wild

On a Saturday in 1987, a five-year-old bedraggled boy was discovered living among the monkeys near Tugela River in the wilds of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

He was showing only animal-like behaviour, he could not talk, walked on all fours, liked climbing trees and loved fruit, especially bananas.

It was thought that his birth mother had left him in the bush when he was an infant, and he was raised by monkeys until Sundumbili residents saw him. He was taken to the Ethel Mthiyane Orphanage and was named 'Saturday Mthiyane' for the day he was found.

“He was very violent during his first days here,” said Ethel Mthiyane, founder and head of the Orphanage. He used to break things in the kitchen, steal raw meat from the fridge, and get in and out through windows. He didn’t play with other kids, instead, he used to beat them and he would often whoop at other children. He died in a fire in 2005, almost 18 years after he was found.

Saturday lived a tragic life to the end, perhaps he wou…

The Ghost of a Famed Baritone Still Haunts the Princess Theatre of Melbourne, in Australia

In March 1888, a famous baritone, Frederick Baker, was playing Mephistopheles in Gounod's opera Faust. At the end of the opera, Mephistopheles submerged dramatically through a trapdoor in the stage, to portray returning to his character’s plunge into hell. However, during his descent, Federici (as he was aptly nicknamed during his career) suffered a severe heart attack and died almost immediately. Unfortunately, he then never returned to the stage in his living life but all the cast members of the production reported together to seeing him on the stage, taking his bows with the rest of the cast.

After this tragedy, many theatregoers and workers have reported seeing Federici and witnessing numerous ghostly events. The most common chilling occurrences within the theatre range from unexplainable balls of fluorescent light that hover about the stage and dress circle, mysterious voices within the corridors, unexpectedly malfunction of equipment during the performances and an ever-grow…

The Al Qasimi Palace ―Most Haunted Place in RAK, UAE

In Ras al-Khaimah (RAK), UAE, about 30 years ago there was a great architectural plan of a massive building like a royal palace so called 'The Al Qasimi Palace' including pools, rivers, garden, everything that will provide this place more fascinating and enriching; but it was not to be.

All the joy of its opening ended up with a depressed shudder on the first night after people moved in. Nobody knows the exact reason but people believe they witnessed such strange and terrible things inside the palace which forced them to flee on the very next day. Since then, almost three decades have passed but no one dared to make this luxury place worthy of its living.

Rumour has it that at night or mid of the day the mysterious sounds of moving furniture and heavy luggage often can be heard. Even more terrifying that many claim to have seen the faces of little children peering through the windows who sometimes cry out to them.

A Seoul Lady, 63, Becomes Pregnant by the Squid

Sometimes we are stuck in some awkward incidents that can never be forgotten in our whole life. A 63-year-old South Korean lady also had never thought that somehow she was going to be a victim of such an awkward event.

In an evening in Seoul, she went to a local restaurant to have some special and delicious dishes like fried-squids known as 'Calamari' in her dinner. She was enjoying her dish when one of the squids which was partially cooked, suddenly injected her mouth with its sperm bag. The woman quickly spitted it out but kept tasting a ‘foreign substance’ even after entirely rinsing her mouth again and again. When she felt severe pain and several creepy crawls in her mouth, finally, she went to a hospital where the doctors extracted 12 small white spindly creatures from her mouth.

This bizarre incident was revealed in a claim of a scientific paper from the National Center for Biotechnology Information in Bethesda, Maryland.

A Biology Student Found Strangled to Death by the Giant Python

A biology student Erik Arietta, 19, worked as a zookeeper in Venezuela when a Burmese Python attacked and killed him. In his duty-time, Erik made the big mistake of opening the Python's cage alone at night. The next morning zoo workers found him strangled to death by the giant snake that was attempting to eat him and already half of his head was in its mouth. The workers had to beat the snake until it released the body.

The accurate details of the attack are still not known exactly, whether a few bite marks were found on Erik’s wrists, which point that he was bit before his unbearable death. And it is unclear why Erik decided to open the Python's cage and what exactly prompted the deadly attack.
